私たちは、近年個体数の減少が危惧されるアカハライモリの生態を継続調査しています。アカハライモリは、環境省レッドデータブックにおいては、準絶滅危惧種とされています。また、都道府県によっては絶滅危惧１A類に指定されているほか、条例により採捕が禁止されている地域もあります。希少になりつつあるアカハライモリの生育環境を守るとともに、個体群の保護に努めています。
We are conducting ongoing research into the ecology of the Japanese fire-bellied newt, whose population has been declining in recent years. The Japanese fire-bellied newt is listed as a near-threatened species in the Ministry of the Environment’s Red Data Book. In addition, it is designated as critically endangered (Category 1A) in some prefectures, and its collection is prohibited by ordinance in some areas. We are working to protect the habitat of the increasingly rare Japanese fire-bellied newt and to conserve its population.
